April 1st - whos out on the bucks

Were taking the .243 out tonight to try for a pricket red since there in a fantastic spot, but we seen at least two bucks last night one I almost shot after spooking the reds.

Wee thing decided to face us hard turned 3/4th doe perfectly broadside that I opted not to shoot and wait for a better shot on the buck..... well there wasn't even a *step* It was look at us for a minute then spin around quickly and there off!

Looked super weird, tiny deer dont get me wrong but looked like he snapped his antlers in velvet but they stayed attached? Hoping to see him again tonight.

Took the boy out for his first roe buck. But he didn’t have the patience. We stalked into a muntjac buck as soon as we entered the wood. His words were “I don’t mind dad I’ll shoot the muntjac, I can shoot a roe buck next time”.

Looks like a nice buck. Congratulations. I saw my first clean buck last wednesday over here. How was the meat damage with the LRX?
Honestly the meat damage was nothing to consider worrying about.

It was actually the first deer I've shot using them now I think of it.
The buck did the usual jump and kicked it's legs, and then fell flat on is back.

I'll take a picture when home today to show entry and exits.

We saw another buck, but he has potential to be a good medal. It was a mates ground and no pressure to shoot lots of deer.

Doesn't look like anything to complain about there. Would you use the same combination on reds?
Yes I don't see any issues using them on reds.
I'll be trying for a red on Friday and will update here how they perform

Evening and morning, one for him, one for me.

Maybe not unusual, but the one in the evening (first photo) was getting hard chased by another buck, the other one (near same size) ran within a few yards of us whilst we were tucked behind a wall the other one made a mistake of standing lovely 60 yards out.

I would of taken the shot but I was behind him and it was one of those scenarios where it was better too hand the rifle with whoever was ahead.
