Sounds like a ball ache more like.Interesting that all parts are now serial numbered. That’s a good move, stops unscrupulous types making ghost mods from spare parts. Presumably if you order a spare part you will have to quote the serial number of you existing unit. Sounds like a good way forward, however I’ve switched from Wildcat to Stalon which I prefer.

Ive not had this one vey long so hopefully its with me a long time.Which is why I’ve switched to Stalon, but probably a way forward to those guys that like Wildcat, better than them not supplying replacement parts.

Im under West Mids but I was purchasing over the border in Powys.I was having a chat with someone in the trade the other day. What I was told is that much depends on your local licensing area.
Some are insisting that the mod is proof stamped for the cartridge (not even calibre) of the rifle it will be used on. Other forces are far more laid back and are happy so long as it is appropriate for the cartridge it is being used for. I’ve just left West Mids/Staffs jurisdiction and they were happy with “misc” calibre and “NVN” for moderators. I’m told other forces have a different view.
As ever, it’s a postcode lottery with licensing.
West Mercia then..... Dyfed- Powys are..... unique......Im under West Mids but I was purchasing over the border in Powys.
Haha. Yes, indeed they are.West Mercia then..... Dyfed- Powys are..... unique......
How much is it also an RFD lottery? As ever, it’s a postcode lottery with licensing.
My thoughts exactly! they were forced to do it by their local Firearms dept, It's not that they wanted to do it to get up every bodies nose. My friend called them direct for the true reason, and that was what he was told. Moderators shouldn't even be on ticket, But I suppose it's because it's a pressure bearing part. They are very good moderators and when mine fails or wears out I will replace with the same brand, I have a Stalon on my 6.5CM and its showing signs of wear after 1000 rounds the baffle inside is gas cut already. I have a ASE Utra Northstar on my .243 It's Heavy/ and the most noisy moderator of the lot. I have a Wildcat evo on my .223 and a Predator 12 on my .22.250 and that makes less noise than the .223Perhaps people should think to themselves that there may be a good valid reason for them having to do this rather than jumping on their backs
I don't think that was entirely the case as there were specific components which they would not sell - exactly for this reason. The reason for not selling spares is that people were buying spares and making up complete moderators which were then sold on to people who did not have permission for one.
