Soooo - tempted by the current offers on the Zulus (and the auto record function) but not sure if I should go for the 3 or 5X version for my .222 - anyone with real world experience who can offer advice please? Also for the Remmy 700 is it the 0MOA S or 35 MOA L Rail?
Thanks chaps.

3-12 is aimed at air rifle/.22 close range users. 5-20 for centre fire foxing/deer. For centre fire the 0MoA Long rail will give you more flexibility for eye relief.
The 35MoA is for air rifles with a loopy pellet trajectory.

Yep, go for 5x20 and the long MOA rail.
Are you bothered about having all the ballistics and rangefinder? if not just go for the non LRF one at a touch over £400.

Mine is 5-20.
No complaints.
I use the lrf all the time and it's good on crows in daylight with the ballistic aid.
Without the ballistic aid the lrf would help with a cheat sheet close to hand. Or just confirm the distance if looking over sometimes confusing dead ground etc.

My auto record isn't working to well with the mod on my 222. You may need to still do it manually but it is kind of easy with the buttons on top and the forward most one being used to video.

Very helpful reply - thank you sir.

Thank you Smelly - especially the last line……

Definitely a 5-20 and 0moa long rail
As Pellet Pinger says, you don't really need the LRF and ballistic calculator on a rifle that fires bullets at more than 3000 fps at targets mostly less than 200 yards away
Use the code AGF member on Blackwood Outdoors website and you'll get 10% off making the non LRF version £414

I've got the 5-20 and if using the PIP function I barely go over 5X anyway and when I have gone up to over 15X I've found the quality of the image degrades more than the benefits of zooming in further.

With this in mind I would go for the 3-12 and use the PIP function when shooting and enjoy the wider field of view. The 0moa rail is better for CF cartridges to keep the reticle in the centre of the screen.

I've not tried the pip feature...I like the Idea of improving the field of view.
Can you set the pip mag independently?

Yes, go into the menu and turn it on.

It functions almost like an optical zoom in the sense that you get a zoomed in more detailed images but with our pixelation like you do when you actually zoom in.

Ranging feature does work but uses the main screen and crosshair just like it does when you aren't using the PIP.
Yes, so there is no point using the pip. If I range a target at 250 I have to use the main screen. Anything closer is easily shot without the pip. Seems pointless.
Any pixelation isn't really that bad and successful shots are made .
Thanks though 👍
