Beretta BRX1

Maybe Michael rainback to could fit an adjustable cheek riser. I’m certainly impressed by the innovations on it. Accuracy is my only concern. But it surely shoots sub 1”. And that’s a dead deer every time for me. I’m absolutely getting one.

Yes, I‘m sure it will shoot well and I‘d also be interested in getting one. But I would want to handle one and test the trigger before I buy.
I was also intrigued by the Sako S20. But then, what a disappointment when I held in my hands.

Quite so. But I suspect the accuracy seen in most of the reviews/videos seen so far is representative of barrels and rifles that are still running-in. That is obviously a topic in itself, but I think it likely the rifle will shoot tighter after a modicum of use.

Why on earth does everyone have to come up with a straight-pull now? Shot frequency is such a minor issue is 99.9% of all hunting situations that it is almost negligible.
The concept of the rail-guided bolt carrier is very nice however. It renders open access to the chamber and is very maintenance friendly. But this can also be utilised in a turn-bolt action. Mauser did this in the 60‘s already with their M66.

Agree 110% not much advantage in Britain or Ireland, but gives the flexibility to take a rifle boar hunting. Rather than rent a rifle or buy a Blaser. Its an inexpensive way to get on a straight pull. Same money as browning maral, half a Blaser, and less than heym, merkel.

I think it's about identifying new niches in the market. The BRX1 lets Beretta offer something that doesn't step directly on Tikka/Sako's toes, that confronts Browning's Maral, undercuts Blaser and Merkel, is more modern than Heym, and less ugly than a Savage Impulse.

Offering something outside of your familiar field also creates interest... like the Benelli Lupo and 828U.

I’d really like to try one of these. Lots to be excited about.
The beretta website shows reasonable costs for parts ie 199.99 euro for the complete rear stock, 99.99 euros for the front stock, 49.99 for the magazine so I’d be very interested to know the price of the barrels. Let’s hope they keep them very affordable and they could be on to a real winner

I‘ve read something like 800 EUR for a barrel somewhere.

Not bad considering it includes the bolt head. And roughly half the cost of a blazer
Ehrrr, no, I don‘t think this includes the bolt head. But regardless, if you‘re not changing into a magnum or mini calibre you‘ll be able to use the existing bolt head.

They’re including a bolt head. It’s in the video. They have made a decision on that for safety reasons.
All the better. But this does raise the question of the machining repeatability if the bolt head needs to be mated with the barrel.

No they’re afraid of litigation of someone uses standard bolt head on magnum calibres or different cartridge size etc.

I‘ll take this as a statement. But I‘d like to see a standard calibre bolt head close on a magnum cartridge case head.

As other have said, I would want to try the trigger first, but subject to that and the fact it is fugly, (I can live with that), the left handed ability is fantastic.
I won’t be changing my Blaser anytime soon but yes if they did one in 223 I would definitely put it high on the shopping list.

Re. calibres, I'm sure that if it's a success - and it really ought to be - other calibres will be added quickly, with .223, .22-250 and .243 being among the first. The Yanks will want a .300 BLK, too.
I suspect they'll aim to build confidence in the design before they offer anything bigger than the .300 WM, however.
