Mora companions are pretty solid for a tenner

Standard stainless mora is good for the money.

Now have one of these on my bino pack as a backup, Ali express special (copy of an Esee) very good quality little knife for the money, good steel, even got the approval of Guy Stainthorp last time he was down stalking with me so can’t be bad!

I used Mora for ages and liked them just fine but then went with a victorionox boner 5” and much prefer it with a Kydex sheath - both cheap as chips.

Used both on red and roe no bother at all

Anything as long as it’s sharp.
I prefer a dual blade with a tripe blade on it but generally they are not budget.

£10 mora will do anything including skinning and butchering if you put your mind to it.

If using it in a larder I find the caribou rabbit knife a really good knife

For cheap I keep a Mora in my waggon in orange scabbard and handle it’s my go to. In my pocket I carry an EKA Swede 8, for skinning I have EKA Swingblade can’t justify spending more than EKA money

Vt-knox tripe knife abt a score, a modified large blade for splitting the breast bone on Red/Fallow
To be honest if you keep hitting bone on the legs neck (easy done) it will take the edge of a knife quickly.
What you don't want to do is just rely on one knife as if you take the edge off it then you are stuffed.
It takes very little time to dull a blade than to get it back to sharp.
