Bit came off Blaser R8 assembly when changing calibres

Looks like an easy fix, new .22 bolt head. Is the number on it on your FAC? Or is just the barrel number entered

Bolt head is on my FAC

If a replacement is required, then it is a 1 for 1

My thanks go to all of you for your kind inputs

@Landy99 I do believe that you have nailed it

Looks like you were able to extract that piece from your own bolt head

Was it straight forward ?

If so - perhaps I can just order a replacement part

The firing pin just fell out one day. It’s a bit of a fiddle getting it back into position to reassemble but I can’t see what had previously held it in position so that it didn’t fall out. Once the bolt is secured in the bolt housing the firing pin is secure and I’ve never had a misfire. I will message at a later date if that’s ok to ask what you ended up doing.

I have a really good gunsmith local to me

He is not a Blaser expert but I trust him to know ‘what he knows’ and ‘know what he doesn’t know’

He shall be my first port of call

PS

Just to be clear - the bit that fell out that you highlighted in the pic - which is identical to mine - is the firing pin??

Same happened to mine. Blaser has confirmed replacement bolt but this would take a minimum of 4 months so I decided to make other plans.. The firing pin failure seems to be a secondary failure. For the pin to fall out, another part needs to fail first, this part keeps the firing pin square/aligned. When it fails, the firing pin is no longer supported by the inner flange and will cause inconsistent firing until the firing pin eventually breaks. My firing pin is still fine but fell out due to the other part failing. Not sure how to upload images so here is a link to the pictures of the part failure:

Does anyone have a contact at Blaser that could supply this part?

Thanks,
Chris

Unfortunately it happens,Mauser 98 action failed too,not my rifle but managed to sort it out,2 reasons, shooting 7.62 military rounds and direct feeding a controlled feed action, BUT plenty parts available and sorted out within a week
