Wanted: Black bear hunt in Alberta - Canada

Highseater

Well-Known Member
Looking for a black bear hunt in spring of 2025. Has anyone had any good experiences with outfitters in Alberta? Prices seem to differ significantly and some are booked up until 2027 already. It would be my first bear hunt, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Did a week of stalking black bear in Montana...hope you like heights and are fit...! Fantastic time and hope to go back soon
Awesome! Any luck? Yes, I’m still quite fit. I was stalking stags in the Carpathians 2 weeks ago. Lots of walking on steep mountain slopes…

Depends what you think is successful, I saw everything except a grizzly, saw lynx wolf moose elk whitetail mule deer, had a bear in the scope and saw bears every day, but I didn't shoot the 6 ft one I was after, found him on 2 separate days but each one was a good hike through forest. On the way down we walked 350 yards just to descend 100 yards, much easier walking up.

Check out Saskatchewan bear outfitters. Would be over bait though. Go to Saskatchewan Commission of Professional Outfitters. They have a list of bear guys.

Did you find something? I'd be keen to hear about your experiences...
