Love the rifles, hate the rifle cases. I bought a Blaser case and really wish I had not bothered. They are re-badged NegriniCases fitted with the quality of combination locks you find on low end travel bags. The locks are partly steel, partly alloy, hardly robust. The biggest flaw? Look at the [4] rivets that hold each of them to the 2mm plastic case. The securing flange on the inside has nearly zero purchase. Now look at the hinge. All exposed, no re-inforcing. And you can push the wire pivot out with a pen! And then voila! Open sesame without touching the locks.
Simply this: if rough baggage handlers don't break the case, those with criminal intent won't need to reach for their large screwdriver to pop the locks off.
To give my rifle half a chance of surviving transit, have made the following additional security mods: [1] Epoxy bonded all hinge spines in place [2] Added two sets of external [stainless steel] padlock staples [3] supplemented skinny exposed external hinges with 3x nylon belting internal hinges.

Bought my R93 back in 1997. Went for the Luxus with wood panel and have used it daily since then. I'm not in the least bit OCD about cleaning/oiling rifles and just use it as a tool. In all that time it has never had a spot of rust on it, the wood gets the odd scratch, the plastic butt plate has a lot of scrapes and scratches, the mounts get taken off every time it's been out in the wet and dried/oiled underneath and not once have they lost zero. Wood scratches look miles better with age and oil compared to plastic scratches. Think the antiques boys call it patina!
I'll never have another rifle, indeed I've just bought a new .243 barrel for it for foxes, simply because RWS have stopped doing the 123gn stuff that I used for everything with the 7x57 for 15 years or so.
If I was young again I'd go for the R8 model rather than the R93, simply because the R8 is the new model and spares will be available for it for a long time after R93 ones (Blaser have now stopped producing R93 barrels and any other spares)

Unless you're shooting "dangerous game", 300wm, 8x68, 9.3x62 would be good options, and all are available to my knowledge.

Try Swillingtons, they have a rifle in 375 H&H they may split, and a 10.3x68 barrel, that will pack a punch !
