I'd be worried for the dog handler...that muzzle is dang close to the back if his head! Accident waiting to happen

The nachsuchers always have their rifles slung low like so, as it then will not catch on overhead branches, notice how he unslings the rifle then just swings the safety, then again he is in France. Agreed the 180 degree swing on that boar put the willies up me.

Can see the reasoning behind that...I'd rather sling it muzzle down in that case rather than sweep my own dome with the muzzle

Looks like a BMH, or a Hanovarian.

Reminds me of the time I was charged by a big 8 point sika stag in Scotland when I had Todd, my other BMH. That was a bit hairy at the time.

Carry mine like that all the time. 100% safe with my Blaser and nachsuchen(tracking) barrel

Do you know if the middle photo was on the mortuary slab? Looks like it could have been fatal wound next to the fermoral artery? Hell of an injury.

I don't think so - he (what's left of him!) appears to have a line in and a pulse wotsit on his finger plus he has his very recently changed underpants on! Helluva mess!
Imagine the conversation the boar could have had with his mates had he survived - "Yea, I know - but you should see the other fella.....".

I take it the second photo is same lad? Surprise he didnt bleed out from all that. Bloody hell!

It's all on youtube - he closes in on (possibly wounded?) pig in very heavy cover, it upends him and whilst the pig is really, and I mean really, working him over his pal shoots it at point blank range. So as well as his awful injuries he is probably deaf too.
