Bovaer in Milk ???

From what I've read, it's on trial on 30 farms that supply arla. I think in farmers guardian, one farmer has been using it for 2-3 years.
I need more information before I can hold a view. It's like saying all GM is horrendously bad.
I think if it's in a view to turn the tide on the climate agenda then they need to look at the fuel needed to keep aeroplanes in the air and the coal being burnt in China and America first.

Must admit surprised arla is involved as its farmer owned and run.
Farmers and farmers orgs need to look at the disaster that basc and others have made of defending shooting.
They need to learn from their total failures and take a leaf out the antis book and go on the attack esp on social media if u can find a weak point
The big thing farmers should be doing is debunking this myth.
I just cant see cows producing this much methane and it causing so much global warming..
Esp the way most live nowadays fancy foriegn holidays, needless journeys and electric things for everything etc
And never mind the fact this will be driven by vegeies/vegans.
There arguement would be far stronger if they only ate uk grown vege in season, so tatties, neeps, carrots etc
Uk farmers really need to start a PR campign highlighting the carbon footprint of fancy foriegn vege or even vege out of season ( strawberries all year round etc)

They should also be looking at this lab grown meat crap, i have very little idea ( or interest) about it.
But looking at carbon footprints and exctly how its made/grown.
I persume its GM?
As it will be a future threat to farmers and they will have plenty money to throw at it.

Not good uf it undermines confidence in milk/dairy or even farming in general.
1 thing i will say is they do have to be careful with this type off thing.
Even if it is 100% safe u wont know tgat for decades and if theyre wrong its far too late by then.
Lets face it scientists dont always have the best track record when it comes to agri.
U had anti biotics in milk caising anti biotic immunity in humans in some local areas decades ago, scrapie, bse etc.

The best way to send a clear message, is to boycott all Arla products, whether it's safe or not this will add cost to the production of Milk as I will be a recurring cost every month, wonder who profits? Mr Gates the Virgin island visitor 🤔
For a long time now I have been buying as much as possible from independent as close to source as I can, yes it's more expensive but you are putting money in an individuals pocket, I will always try and find the smallest/independent supplier for my business and for personal purchases.
There are lots of independent dairys selling direct to consumers now ether with vending machines or deliveries

Absolutely agree but without air travel Attenborough won't be able to fly all around the world to lecture us all on how we are destroying it, neither will the politicians and eco loonies be able to attend all those climate change conferences so that we might receive the very same message from them as well!

So the 30 trial farms milk collections are segregated from the normal bulk collection?

Cant be bothered getting into arguments, but be assured that the bulk of methane comes from the front end of a cow (or other ruminant).
Yeah like it did from the dinosaur and the mammoth.
God knows how much from the north American buffalo.
Then there are all them wilderbeast.

Can't tax them buggers though hey, FFS
