Bovaer in Milk ???

Arla milk also goes out to processing plants for cheeses, yogurts, butters etc etc.
There's a lady on YouTube who's going to different supermarkets and checking the production codes on each item to see who's supplied the milk.
Very surprising how many different processors Arla and Muller control and how many different dairy brands / products are produced with milk from these two.
There are certain smaller dairy producers who are stating that their products are bovaer free.

So the 30 trial farms milk collections are segregated from the normal bulk collection?
I very much doubt it.
I can't see the benefit from a farmers point of view. If it's not increasing the milk yield or making the cattle eat less. If their muck is drier then the amount of straw bedding used would be less. There's got to be some sort of financial incentive.
I hope it's not the tax payer having to subsidise it again.

You lot are are $hitting bricks about Bovaer, but are happily drinking milk which has likely come from cows with TB!
Unless you are in a high risk area, farms are only tested every 5 years, so a dairy cow could easily be carrying TB but being milked for months /years until it shows clinical signs or is tested.
Personally, I would be more concerned about that.

As for Bovaer, rather than getting your news from TikTok or twitter, how’s about reading the actual guidance and product info including its license details. Here is the manufacturer’s details for starters: dsm-firmenich receives UK approval for its methane-reducing feed additive Bovaer®

That's right, big business/pharma always have our best interests at heart, look at all the healty food that fills most of our suoermarkets.
Also there is no way that big bisness/pharma would hide anything or cover things up!!
Stop f@ck!NG with our food!

The part of this I don’t like is it’s not an additive, it’s a drug if it’s designed to interrupt the function of the cows body!

Arla is farmer owned and have had huge environmental government subsidies!

So far we know Grahams and McQueens milk is Bovaer free, vote with your feet and buy this rather than supermarket milk!

I can’t disagree with that sentiment, but anyone who owns livestock knows that there are approved and non-approved meds and the approvals are done independently of the drug companies. There are also withdrawal periods for some drugs (antibiotics and painkillers etc) but the reality is that there will be some residues that persist, especially if the animal has had a spray medication such as spray antibiotic for foot rot such as engemycin, etc.

Personally I am more worried about ultra processed food than I am about milk from cows which have eaten Bovaer, but I can see why some find it unnerving.

Still, I would consult the actual veterinary documentation on the additive rather than listen so a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist who has purchased a degree or phd from the university of special degrees!!

I am old enough to remember when TT came into being. I knew two small farming families whose cows were reactors and were all culled. Both those families had children and none of those contacted TB, indeed one farmers daughters were the bonniest girls going. The old adage used to be work in clean air or if you contract it high ground sanitoriums were the place to be. A cousin of mine in NZ taught in a high country town in the Southern Alps, she got it despite her location. We were clear for years but it's returned and we all know how, just like smallpox in the early 60's when our local country maternity hospital became a smallpox isolation unit.

I've posted on this on a previous thread.
The product in Bovaer is 3-nitrooxypropranolol. It blocks (as post 4) an enzyme in the Archaea organisms that forms methane as an end product of their metabolism. Anything that isn't utilised is metabolised in the rumen to CO2, so it isn't present in milk or meat.
The only safety flag is infertility in some rats fed huge doses, so it has this on this on the data sheet.

How much this will have an actual impact on the reality that is global warming I personally doubt.

Recent history should have show you that big pharma/business can hide the data that they don't want you to see and msm can pump out disinformation as facts!
Fool me once ...

Exactly so why risk putting something with no long term safety data potentially into our food chain to solve a problem that doesn't exist ???
You would be amazed at what actually goes into food these days.
The venison you shoot will be the cleanest meat available (unless you own an organic farm or small holding).
There are lots of things that go into food that really doesn’t need to be there (palm oil and corn syrup being two that add zero to taste and texture but loads to the calorie count and addictiveness (not sure if that is a real word, but sounds good) of the food - guess why it’s in burgers and ice-cream!!!

If you smoke then the crap that they put into cigarettes to make them more addictive and to improve the absorption of nicotine is even worse.

I do get that Bovaer is a topical matter and for some it fits nicely into the big brother category of things being done, but in the grand scheme of things there is way more that you ingest every day that is far more dangerous that you are probably not even aware of.

I choose to smoke !

Hiding stuff in milk that I put in bottles and give to my babies of a night time is a different matter
