Yep - it’s all got a bit too real a bit too quick and all of a sudden people with the ability to harvest their own protein are no ‘longer posh’ tw@ts or ‘trophy hunters’ but survivors.
I do a bit of game dealing on the side and have been struck by the sudden vulnerability of not just the older generation but the ignorant masses who literally have no idea outside a pizza box or bing meal. The catering trade has ground to a halt but if ever there was an opportunity to make bank this was it... however... I got to thinking about how I’d feel once the dust has settled and, for me, it won’t sit right. My 9-to-5 pays the bills PAYE (at the moment at least) which is more that can be said for a lot of poor self employed sods finding themselves in this unprecedented situation... let alone the elderly and NHS workers, one of which is my wife and another my immediate neighbour. I can make a difference - so I will, however small.
I’ve a mate in the catering trade who, like many, is facing a hard slog at best or at worst the end of everything he has strived for. Despite this he’s CLOSED his restaurant to customers but is staying open for the community, paying his staff from his own savings and/or crowd funding and is giving away free food to anyone who needs it. I’ve take him staking a few times (foc I might add) and he’s not only a clinical shot he’s massively for the whole experience. If you are able to make a cash donation then great (link below). If you can make a carcass donation, whether it be venison, wild boar, pigeon, rabbit.... bat (lol!) then pm me and I promise 100% will go to a worthy home.
Please PM me with any carcass availability...at least with foc you won’t lost money on chest shots!
PS. Nothing in this for me other than even less sleep than I’m getting already. At best I’ll get a few instagram follows or likes but my wife will go f’ing apesh!t. Whether you can contribute or not please ping a like and it’ll help me push on through the dark hours after getting beaten up on the 9-5.
