Bullets from USA

Is it legal to purchase expanding bullets from a reputable source in USA and have them sent to UK ?

The problem (for any projectile & many other items) is really at the US end as (in effect) an export licence has to be obtained. It can be done & there are some US suppliers who’ll accommodate, but the cost overhead is prohibitive unless the order is sufficiently large. You could approach the few dealers/retailers over here who already work in conjunction with suppliers in the US & have the paperwork set up.

I believe Brownells UK get all their stuff from the USA.

This is correct, however when you order something that is advertised as in stock that "in stock" is not necessarily in the UK or even Europe. A wait of weeks is possible/probable which is annoying when unexpected.
