Chainsaw Boots

I have a pair of Mendel Forestry boots well worth the money :tiphat: I think they were £250 when i bought mine.

Oregon chainsaw wellies !! I'd rather cut my feet off ! They have got to be the most uncomfortable boots ever made . I bought a new pair last winter wore them for a week then gave them away , I was to cheesed off to ask money for them . Buy a pair of lace ups

Not going to worry u but just know most/all chainsaw PPE will not really stop a powered chain ( a chain hitting ur leg with throttle on full tilt, but then again ud have to be a complete idiot to hit ur leg and keep throttle going), esp with a big saw.

They will stop a slowing chain which is wot they wee designed for and wot most accidents are

Well remember the advice that I was given:-

"The trousers (PPE) will not stop you suffering serious injury but they will give the surgeon something left over to work with..."

Cheers guys, sound advice.

having looked a bit more, it seems like the welly type boots are more cost effective. The Oregon Yukon rubber boots are class 3 and on offer for £50 at screwfix. They have steel toes rather than composite and offer a high level of protection.

better 2 hot feet than one cool one eh! 😉
Meindle wood Walker pros are the best I’ve found over the years. However, those Yukon are very good value for money and cost a quarter of the price, perfect for what you need.
kindest regards, Olaf

I use meindle airstreams for work, and for most of my shooting and terrier work , never get wet feet with them on

Cheers fellas, normally I’m all in for spending big money on boots, as I really do believe you get what you pay for. However I’m currently staring redundancy in the face, so £££ is to be used sparingly. I think I’ll nip to screwfix and try a pair of the Oregon leather boots, and a pair of the wellies and see how they feel. If I can stay under £100 then I’ll be happy.

I got a pair Arbortec from these people, online business and very fast delivery. Chainsaw Boots just looked and see they do waders for a £100 but not sure I would won't to be in them all day!

What size are you? I've got a pair of meindl here only a couple of months wear but they're only small size, I'll have to check but prob 8ish, one of my ex employees

I’d probably be a 10 depending on fit. But thanks.
