Clean Rifle or not

Trigger & barrel time Eh!, I have had time on warden duties at a very busy / large, police owned range facility, some of the antics & lack of personal admin, looking after your own rubbish etc, has been an eye opener! as to the amount of ammunition expended, it bears zero relationship to sporting shooters, very few police shooters are trained in the use of long arms either, most are using semi's & handguns, as to range time, some sporting shooters can attend a range detail 4 times in a month at distances from 100mtrs on out to 1000+, some of the aforementioned personnel have been very poor performers out on the hill too. Having said that, I personally would not like to attempt a house entry where a nut with very bad intentions was in place. 8)

I totally agree with those points, in fact some of the worse shooting i have ever seen has been on Police range days, amazing that they are allowed that standard. I certainly get nervous at Manc airport seeing these guys with G36's. I also agree that this doesnt equate to sporting shooting but how many stalkers for example take time out to practice their skill sets as opposed to just shooting quarry?

Hmmm let's see I picked up the 25-06 on December 4th and have so far put 59 factory rounds through it and 119 handloads and that does not including the testing and sighting in of the 270 with the 140 grain Sierra and 100 grain Remington PSP handloads nor the .222 Rem with the 55 grain Hornady SP and checking and re-zeroing the 7x57 for the 139 grain Hornady BTSP (was sighted in for 175 grain Remington bullets) and finally the 30-06 with the 130 grian Hornady SP. Have yet to test the 06 with the 150 grain Hornady's.

Waiting for the winds to drop for that

Hmmm perhaps I should create a log for the hours :???:
