Combination rifles

Thanks! Looks like all the drilling, except for the brand new Krieghoff one, sold but at the bottom of their price range. There's hope for me yet!

When you are bidding you have to keep in mind buyers premiums etc. I paid a total of just over £1,000 for the following a few years back - the price at auction was £850. I was the only bidder and got it for the reserve price. After a bit of research I found it was actually built by Joseph Hambrusch in Ferlach - Heinrich Munch was just a retailer. He quoted about 15,000 Euro to build something similar.

I get real pleasure every time I use it. Only changes to it are that the stock was quite short with a lot of angle on the butt so I have had it lengthened with a recoil pad, and I also have made a leather cheek piece that laces on as the scope is quite high. I also have a 1-4x20 Nickel Scope that I will get around to mounting sometime.

That is absolutely gorgeous, well done, and a bargain too. You really just have to be patient, bide your time, and make sure that you have a 7x65R slot on your ticket when the time comes. Just out of interest, I take it you have to reload your own ammunition? Also, given that lots of these come in 7x57R and that there isn't a huge amount of difference in the two calibres, could you do a 1-for-1 swap on these relatively quickly if a gun in one or the other came onto the market? That must be a reasonably common situation.

Get a slot for a 7mm - it then gives you the ability to acquire any of the 7mm calibres. Not a lot to choose between the 57r and 65r in the real world save for the 65r can push a 173 gn bullet to 2750fps - not that you need this. Ammo is available in the UK, you just need an RFD that either has it or prepared to order it in. RWS and Sellier & Bellot is both available but s&b is priced the same as RWS which is crazy when on the continent it's much cheaper. I reload a 139gn hornady over 51.5gn of IMR 4831 - nothing complains about it.

Just saw this lovely set for sale today.

Big hint dropped to the Frau that she does not really need a new car, sadly to no avail!

Effectively four rather smart guns, three with what I'd assume are also rather good scopes, complete with similar quality mounts, for 1,500 each, with a fitted (suit-)case thrown in. a genuine bargain I'd say - just quite a lot to swallow in one gulp - I'd love to see the faces in the licensing office when that variation request came in too.

Indeed. It appears that the weapons are from a collection, were crafted in 1969 and have been little used.
The scopes are:
1). Nickel Supra 3 -9 x 50
2). Zeiss Diavari 1.5 - 6 x 36
3). Zeiss Diavari 1.5 - 6 x 36
