Custom and Semi custom rifle photos/porn

The great thing about customs is you start with a remington action.

Then you replace the stock
Then you replace the barrel
Then you replace the action
Then you replace the magazine

then you tell you blaser mates the year it is expected back from the gun smith
then the following decade if any mates are still alive you tell them how badly it shoots and its going back to the gun smith to fix it.

Some semi-custom work of a Sauer 3000 export model

The first cerakoted drilling they ever did and the first custom picatinny rail for a SEM mount - damn heathens!

“Stumpy”
The most accurate 22 I’ve ever owned , brings a smile every time I squeeze the trigger…..

All this customisation is getting me thinking again...

I have a pre 2005 Savage 12BVSS in 308win (4.25in screw spacing). What stocks would be a drop in fit?

Or….you start with a used tikka/sako base action (which usually require absolutely no fettling), choose the exact spec you desire for intended purpose, wait 6 months (from experience) and get something that outshoots a blaser by a wideee margin (from experience) and costs 2/3 the price. With the added bonus of not having a blaser 🤣🤣🤣

Interesting in how boring most of them are.

Big stock, adjustable, often with a butt hook, tactical bolt knob, heavy barrel in slightly different calibre and aics mag. Yawn. And some of targets are nothing to write home about either. The bits may vary but the end point is sadly uniform.

One of two genuinely different rifles though, well done Sirs, you know who you are !

Had this been Pigeon Watch you’d be banned for such observations!

Oh, and you didn’t mention rails.

Maybe your problem is that you are looking at rifles that others made to their spec ... not your spec. Another point is the performance of such rifles, maybe your spec just does not reach the performance levels needed? That is why a custom is designed for a specific use. Building and old wooden stocked rifle is the easiest thing, they could do that 200 years ago. Problem nowadays would be to get it to shoot 2" groups or bigger.... like they used to.
For myself I like experimenting and each rifle has a specific purpose. One of the rifles in my picture is lighter than the majority of wood stocked stalking rifles however in a different class when it comes to accuracy and long range performance, just what I need to remove deer from plantations.

Not mine but my good friend & hunting companion in Montana ..I was involved closely with this build from the start , we put some brainstorming ideas together for future builds really , I managed to find in Germany a new Bell & Carson stock (I’m not a great fan but perfect for this build) I had it cerakote &
shipped it over to Montana. 300 Blackout 16-1/2” Carbon proof barrel with titanium suppressor …
