Deer extraction….. options

Ideal ground for your trolley , I’m surprised it doesn’t sink with the thin tyres and that’s not a small stag , we wouldn’t get away with that up here in the wetlands of Argyll 😁 your a lucky fella
Well you should see some of the places I have extracted stags from using that trolley, but as I'm over 61 now I hunt smarter, capstan winch to somewhere sensible then trolley or drag tray.
Where it really fails in in clear fell, forget it!
Cheers

Nothing works well in clearfell 😁👍. Recently in passing conversation I heard of a fella who pops a lot of deer saying he had bought a plastic tray sleigh from bushwear and used it a lot in clearfell , only dragging one at a time but a lot easier , he was trying to buy another .

For tricky bits I use 8mm non stretch rope and climbing block and tackle. One double pulley one locking double pulley. Sledge helps to bit with some wax on the runners. Chainsaw with capstan winch has its uses but the block and tackle is more useful and lighter

For a sika hind one of the backpacks/frames works well but anything bigger than a pricket needs more than one person.
Theres a little winch attachment for a chainsaw I’ve seen used to extract reds, other than that you can do the meat eater field butchery job fairly easily. The Swedes attach 3 or 4 straps to a moose and haul it out that way, 2 of you should be able to drag a stag but leave a bit of spare energy in the tank just in case one of you has a heart attack.

Here's a video I found when extraction of a red stag a few years ago the extraction was in stages a total distance of 350 meters approx until I could get the pickup close enough to load him up ,hes's a decent animal which weighed 100kg plus clean weight I can't remember the exact weight but am guessing around 120kg anyways the winch is a pcw3000 slow but steady the sled is a jet sled which has been my best ever investment for extraction it's over 10 years old has done an amazing ammount of work and is still going strong, I only use the winch for big stuff or on very steep terrain the rest I pull by hand.

enjoy 😂

I have just over a mile walk from a place I shoot. I use a monarch sack and pack them out. The bigger the deer the more parts it comes in. Leave the parts you won't eat. Smashed or blood shocked parts.
