Deer extraction….. options

For tricky bits I use 8mm non stretch rope and climbing block and tackle. One double pulley one locking double pulley. Sledge helps to bit with some wax on the runners. Chainsaw with capstan winch has its uses but the block and tackle is more useful and lighter
Hi, how much effort is needed using something like this?

As DDS said about the snatch block.

I also have a snatch block and 50m of the braid on braid polyester and a further 50m of 6mm Dyneema (spelling?) in a rucksack type rope bag, the strop is in there also. it goes on the front rack of the bike.

If I think I would need more rope I would take the additional hanks of braid on braid and heavier Dyneema with me on the bike.

Cheers

It really depends if it’s a shitty block and tackle it’s almost useless… if it’s nice ball bearing climbing gear it’s fantastic you can lift 100kg with ease (get one double pulley with a one way catch and one straight double pulley)

Non stretch rope is a must though.
