Deerstalking Fair, Newark Showground, 29th & 30th November, 2014

If you went today and it was quiet, assuming you registered you have a better chance of winning the Zeiss HT binoculars!

I think all stalkers who can should go to this fair , a lot of people moan about shows that there isn't enough there isn't, well since this is the first 1 in England we should show our support so the organizers can attract more exhibitors and the show will get better and better . if not it may stop and we will be back to having no show at all . I came down last after doing a 10 hour shift a work and drove a total of 245 miles in the day . come on everybody get behind this is, make the effort and go to the deer stalkers fair

I'd originally planned to go, but in the end work got in the way. Shame, I'd have liked a good snoop around and to meet a few more members. Guess I'll have to wait either til next year or make a trip to Kelso

Quite right but this has been organised right in the middle of the game season and that will have a huge impact. Hope it is better today for traders, very little footfall according to my friend who I spoke to last night.

I had a stand/shared stand for a couple of years in Kelso. the first was great and sales were decent, plenty of foot traffic. The second year the sales will struggle to cover the exhibition stand costs and foot traffic IMHO was not good, Sunday was a write off, I left early to go stalking..LOL. Worst of all, most people seemed to be the same people from the year before, and a lot just wanted to talk for hours and not do business. I felt there was little intention for people to spend money this year, mostly just browse and talk.

I'd be interested to see the actual declared event turnover from all the stands as I'm not sure how much it really was.

I think if anything, these fairs are more about just creating brand awareness than anything, unless you're selling FMCG's.

That said, I'd hate to see it go.

+ 1 - I went this morning. Not big, but has everything you need under one roof. Shame that you could only pay by cash. I think a few stall holders lost out due to this. New bone saw for me at good price. Will be back next year.

Well done to you for effort put in organising this a pleasant morning spent looking round and bought a few items I needed.
At least the credit card did not take a big hit.
only thing is I was shooting yesterday and would have gone stalking this morning if it had not been on
maybe timing is off but difficult to suggest a better time.

I went today yes small but i saw and spoke to all the people I wanted to see plus few others - only had to wait 5 minutes on one stand . You can spend a lifetime at the Gamefair whilst some gas bag wastes a stall holders time before you can spend your money. Would I go again next year - probably not unless there was something I definitely wanted to buy.

Smallish but still big enough. Talked to lots of interesting people and bought a few toys, so not bad weekend

i also went on saturday , i think you need to support the efforts of the stall traders and organisers , i felt it wasnt well supported and hope they did better today

Question: how many here purchased a new rifle or ordered one? Also, how many spent over £250 'at' the fair ...excluding parking and food and entry?

I enjoyed the fair today and it was a pleasure to meet Csl and Tika.308 on the SD stand. Great service from Brock and Norris. Mike sorted my friend out with lots of consumables. :thumb:

I enjoyed the fair, good to meet lots of old friends and made many new contacts, also nice to put names to faces with Csl and Tika.308 and many others who came to the UKDTR stand,
thank you to Richard For the very nice leather rifle sling.
A big thanks to Brian and Steve for letting us show what we do.
