Designer breeds

I’m not sure if others have noticed this but it seems that if you can breed a dog of breed A with a bitch of breed B and very importantly come up with a daft name for the new “breed” that the pups are worth mega bucks!!! Now being old with excellent long term memory I’m sure they used to be called mongrels and given away in the pub for the price of a pint!! I guess that must be progress

No to be honest I haven’t done…. I’ve just found it via the search function though. I was more despairing at the marketing of mongrels in a mutton dressed as lamb fashion!

We have an utterly charming huge beast, a rescue dog. Turns out he’s a designer breed called Bullweiler. An excellent design choice, I think.
