Do many people get 100% on their DSC1 test?

How do you find out your actual score results? I just got a blue pass certificate???

It was unofficial and on the day at the test centre. They get sent away for marking externally, but as he only had two of us there he gave them the once over whilst we did the ID test etc.

I did. We were told at the end. only a couple had more than one or two wrong. Our instructor was very good however and the majority did the course rather than just the assessment IIRC.

I managed 100% on the ID and 49/50 on the questions and passed 2nd time in the shooting test. We swapped papers at the end of the test and marked them, not sure if they were sent off to be verified quite some time back.
i was more upset at failing the shooting test than getting one question wrong.

I remember a woman of slight stature shooting a 270 cal hitting 3/4" groups on every target, she must have recoiled about a foot every time she pulled the trigger, she also got 100% in both the ID test and questionnaire and could also hold her drink better than most of the course candidates - who says woman are the weaker sex.

my last course had 7 guys, they all had 100% on ID but dropped 11 ish questions between them on the meat hygiene and main paper. I think 3 had full marks on the main paper and the same with the meat hygiene.

It's easy if you revise for long enough but only with good resources, the manual itself is not going to make life easy.

Its all down to a good teacher no i didn't get 100% i got at least one wrong might be more i didn't see the other question paper

I got the manual yesterday and crikey, that's gonna take some digesting!! I do like the online resource too and of course I have you guys to bug!!

I passed with 100% way back in 1997. I studied hard but was worried about the shooting test (all the fails on my course happened at that stage). I was new to centrefires and couldnt shoot very tight groups on the 1 ins bull targets we practised on. I then did the test on the official target (with no visible aiming point) and was convinced I'd fail. I was blown away when we walked up to the target and found a lovely 1.5 group right on the money!

Nothing spectacular for me now but back then I couldn't stop grinning the rest of the day!

PH.

I know it doesn't matter as long as you pass, but I was wondering how many people have passed getting 100% in every aspect of the test?

I'm a perfectionist and I'll be jarred if I don't get close!!

You will never know, it is a pass or fail test, you do not get a mark and are not allowed to take the paper away.

I got 100% on the questions , ID and safety but failed my shooting test due to nerves , had to re-sit shooting test.

Quite a few guy need more than one go at the shooting test for things like:

nerves
rifles that should be scrapped
optics that are sheit
rubbish factory ammo (oh god some stuff has been crap)
can't see (so they say)
scared of the rifle (snap and blink)
never fired their rifle at a target further that 50m away

Sometimes guys need maybe two or more goes..... practice and repetition is the key but when there's a good rig on standby they guys who's gear is misbehaving can use the estate rifle. I got a t3 heavy barrel varmint with mod, two bipods to swap between and good optic on top but the key to making it a winning dsc1 rifle is the rifle is in .223 so it's like firing a rimfire. Everyone passes with it but like your best gundog, no it's not for sale lol...

I did the NSSC in '97 and passed, don't know or care about the score as I was more interested in gaining knowledge and shooting well. I then didn't jump through the relevent hoop to get a DSC1 conversion and did an exam only resit over 10 years later and passed again. I was still only interested in how I shot and wether I passed or failed.

Personally I feel that exams are like light bulbs, either on or off, yes or no, pass or fail. But thats just my opinion and not worth a lot to anyone else.

Paul, Shouldn't the test rifle be FULLY deer legal? I could have used my 17Mach2 if I'd known ;)

A few on my course got a couple wrong on the ID test. Most of them got the photo of a Sika hind mixed up with a fallow doe. One guy put Red Stag when it was a Muntjac Buck, the examiners had a chat with him and put it down to nerves. :scared:

I got 100% in all although I was asked to take an additional shot on the range. They told me one of my shots appeared low and they couldn't be sure if it was inside or outside the Kill Zone. I then aimed slightly higher for the additional shot only to find that my first shot was in the KZ on the bottom edge and my additional shot was just outside the KZ so I past and hadn't needed the extra shot.
