Dornoch firth - paid stalk?

Hi All,
I cannot post in the correct forum yet so apologies in advance.

Early November, me and some others are going wildfowling in Dornoch firth.

While we are there, we’d like to do some deer stalking up there, does anyone have any contacts?

I’ve tried google but cannot find anything, wouldn’t mind driving 50-100 miles.

Cheers

An area I know VERY well. Not the best place for wildfowling, Miekal ferry does receive a large number of Widgeon later in the autumn. However most of the access is tied up with the Inverness and Cromarty wildfowlers.

Plenty of stalking in the area, but for the bigger estates you will probably need to book well in advance.

I can’t comment on the wildfowling as I’ve never been there but my mates dad has been going up there for the past 4-5 years, although it seems like they never get big bags (2-10 birds) over the week.

Do you know any local stalking firms I could contact?

Nigg bay has a good number of pink foot geese, shooting on the foreshore is not restricted but use public access to the beach, Tulloch on here might be able t9 help on the stalking front

You’re the second person to say that, deffo going to drive down and have a look 🙏

Many years ago stalking was available through one of the owners of this forum, near enough on the banks of the Dornoch. Paid one visit with my brother. He shot a Sika Hind out of a group of three, we big saw a big red stag (just out of season). Thick frost all day the day we went. I used to go up every year for a weeks wildfowling .

Hi mate, I might be able to put you in contact with someone, depending what species you want to stalk? Plenty of wildfowling up here also, just need to know the right spots!

One person you can try for Geese is James Munroe at Pitkerry farm, Hill of Fearn. I used to shoot with James many years ago. He may still be going, you would need to check. He had a large area in and around Loch Eye, which was a major goose roost for the area.

Brilliant thanks

There used to be a lot of geese on Nigg bay , quick sands there and it can be a long walk out , when the tide comes in it is as fast as you walk so be ware . Come from the Kildary A9 side and turn down on the corner by the cottage .
