Dsc1 shooting test resit cost

You can buy the deer target for DSC1 think BDS charged me £6. including postage .
Then buy a roll of paper of amazon and practice but learn the distance between ears and body and leg.

6 rounds 2x 100 yd prone 2x at 70m sitting/sticks 2x head shot at 20m/10m sitting/sticks
sorry forgot the three zeroing rounds

Should only be putting 6 rounds through a piece of paper with the new test if I remember rightly? 😅
Really. So 3 in the zeroing target, 2 into the kill zone at 100, 2 at 70 and 2 into the head at 20 isn’t the way it’s done now?

No zero target - or at least when I did mine last year.
No, just read it. I presume you get a chance to check zero first though. The shooting test is the bit that catches out the most people. The simple word ‘Test’ can turn a good shot into a crumbling wreck!

Presume at your peril. At least on my course no zero target was offered on the day. A session a week before was put on, but nothing else.

Don't know if BASC etc do...

Agree in though that the shooting test does seem to be the biggest hurdle... Need to find time to try the black dot of doom challenge that gets talked about on here.

I recently re sat the deer id section of my dsc1 , it was at the end of the day on a dsc course and was £25 ,for the shooting test I would expect it to be slightly more If borrowing a rifle and the ammunition or a lot more if it was on a day where it was organised just to do the resits and no dsc1 course was taking place

On my DSC there was a BDS zero check target adjacent to the actual deer target. From memory you were allowed up to three shots to confirm zero and that was that, it wasn't an unspecified number of shots to either re zero nor to get "into the groove", as it were.

I borrowed the instructor's rifle and bullets in Wadhurst at no extra fee .
And passed all at first attempt but be careful as other's who wore glasses could not alter the scope.
