End of the 17wsm in the UK?

Even Bullberry Barrels who make top end barrels for Thompson Center single shots does not list the 17WSM in their extensive 17 caliber line up. (tTho you could order it custom) This is a company that offers the long-gone 17 Bumblebee.
Too bad because it would be a natural. I love my 5mm. ~Muir

Cal. .17, a concept I never understood. .22 is as small as it needs to be.
I see more people having problems with micro calibers ((including .22) than not.

I’ve shot hundreds of rabbits & a couple of dozen foxes with my .17hmr and never encountered a problem. Yes, I have to check every round in a box of ammo upon opening for split necks, but it’s very rare that I find one nowadays (Hornady 17gr V-max). I find it a very useful little round.

I've stopped checking. My hmrs are running fine.

It would be a fool hardy endeavor. The engineering that goes into the type and quantity of priming compound and then balancing that with a compatible powder is beyond home loading. ~Muir

I picked up another 350 rounds over the weekend, that's over 320 pests worth. In fairness, I miss a few, the round is superhuman accurate, I'm only human.

A .224 CF is where it starts if one wants to shoot at 100m or beyond. Anything smaller is play stuff and not worth the bother. Proof? This forum!
You obviously shot a 20PPC !!

Everyone has thier right to thier own say but it doesn't mean it is necessarily correct. Mayby your opinion is due to your conditions or rules? The .17 is a far superior round when doing night pest control im mine. It has somewhat revolutionised it. When you you are shooting 100+ rounds per night you want the extra length and flat shoot compared to 22lr or mag and the drastically cheaper ammo cost compared to 222 223 so on so on.

Was tempted a while ago with the 17WSM, but put off by possible lack of take up. What a relief I passed, but a shame this looks to be dying. The idea in principle is sound. Using a proven, reliable and readily available parent case makes so much sense.

Sorry mate that reply was for the other fellah.

Flat means little WINDAGES are what makes an Accurate and easy to use rifle . Put it up against 20 Ruger etc BC rules not speed . You can shoot a std 223 rem to 300yrds on MPBR and a tad of adjustment of the aim point elevation without dialling . At night 300 is a long shot

Exactly, 95% of night shots are 150 or less, flat shooting silver dollars for minimal cost. Most people don't have several thousand dollar thermal scopes to dial long distances at night. Like I said him do him or you do you (now that you've added yourself) where ever you are from but driving around from place to place on a side by side on flat to gentle rolling terrain or setting up with a good rest and waiting for things to come into range with a good rest doesn't work in many places over here, all you'll achieve is shooting eff all whilst getting fat. If you want to be efficient and cost effective at pest control here you get a mid priced thermal monocular, spot a target then either shoot or walk if to far out then shoot with a little light setup like a ledlenser m7 (e.g) on your under barrel. Flat fast 17hmr with 20g pills or the wsm out to 150 are perfect. Wind no big deal, you deal with it like every other decent pest controller. The guy I was responding to must be in some marginal circles if all he sees is people having problems with the 17cals. It's sounds like a different planet to what people are doing sucessfully here, people who are doing it for a living and rely on kills for payment.
