Eye protection - reloading

When I first started reloading around about 1979/1980 I made a couple of mistakes and wanted to dismantle a couple of rounds. A friend loaned me his home made kinetic bullet hammer to use that was made of brass plumbing fittings and copper pipe. It was a real Heath Robinson affair, and I chickened out of using it and resorted to the old mole grips/reloading press method.

When I returned his home made "bullet puller" he asked how I had got on with it and I had to admit my cowardice/caution and tell him that I hadn't used it. "Oh!" he said.
I then asked him how it had worked for him when he had used it, only to receive the reply - "I haven't used it yet, I was hoping that you would try it out first".

I never used to bother but since I need glasses all the time I bought some bifocal safety glasses and they were very affordable for normal wear so they are my default glasses now

I use a Hornady Cam-Lock bullet puller... easily the best tool for di-assembling cartridges & simple to use.
A kinetic hammer definitely isn't the best tool for the job.
