Face masks after monday - Your thoughts?

My mantra also - it appears that some people are determined to go against the medical advice almost out of spite as they are either fed up (bored?) or resent being told what they should do. At least in this country we are lucky (or could it be because the government did something right?) in having the vaccines and vaccinations available.
Our covid advice comes from a collection of hysterical mediocrities who presided over one of the world's worst outbreaks. Our vaccine came from the world's best universities and pharmaceutical outfits. It's notable that the latter successes came from independent outfits trying a range of different approaches. Our "medical advice" from a bunch of tools with good track records of failure who didn't even take their own advice.
I wonder what could account for the difference in outcomes?

Some reports of AZ double dosers catching Covid now.
It only has a 13% efficacy in stopping you catching Covid after the second vaccination. What it is good at is preventing death.

I’ll be wearing one. I’d obviously rather not, but it’s hardly much of an inconvenience is it.
If it makes any difference at all to the older couple in Tesco’s who don’t have anyone else to do their shopping, who are vulnerable etc. then it’s the least I can do as a fit, young, 26 year old. The masks we wear around in public are much more about protecting others than oneself.
I, myself, am at a low risk of becoming seriously ill with it - young, fit, double vaccinated. However, I come into contact with it regularly at work. If I can do anything to not pass it on to others, that has to be a common sense approach.
Yes, I’m bored of it, yes, I hate wearing a mask, yes, I resent many of the things the government have done. But to me, it seems sensible to continue the ‘serious hardship’ that is wearing a mask…

I don't like wearing a mask, but I do and will continue to do so in shops etc.
This thing is not over, there will be anther wave of infections and lockdowns will continue.
Why do I think that, because the majority of the population are stupid and irresponsible, not to mention having no respect for others.
Masks are not going away, will still be compulsory in doctors, hospitals, public transport etc.

Neil.

I’ll continue to wear one in public places with high densities of people….although the rules are sometimes a bit odd - wear a mask walking through a restaurant full of people but you are okay to remove it as soon as your bum touched the seat at your table….seems odd!

I’d sooner wear a badge showing I’m taking ivermectin, which serves as an educational aid for the open minded, and a pointer to the superior prevention properties of it than either mask or vaccines, all other things being equal (which I accept are not, otherwise we’d not be in this pickle of our own continued making): closer to Zero than ‘low risk’ of both catching and spreading the virus. Proud to wear it, nothing to hate.

To my mind that’s less boring, whilst still being sensible, and even helpful.

There will be reports of people getting CV19 who have had both doses of any of the approved vaccines, firstly even the best of the vaccines only have mid 90% protection and secondly the vaccines massively reduce you chance of needing hospitalisation if you contract it they are not a “Silver bullet” ( pun intended)

Sadly, I won't get away with going to the bank dressed like this anymore
