Fake Zeiss?

But it's not a Zeiss. Looking at the Zeiss Conquest range, nothing from Zeiss looks like the scope being offered, and I can't find an option for red/green reticles mentioned either. So a pretty poor fake I'd guess.

Had me going for a minute until I started looking at all those knurled grips and focusing rings.....

Its the old adage..."If it looks too good to be true......."

Looks more like a cross between a MTV and a BSA sweet nothing scope,

Zeiss with red and green ret.............my Rs,

Got to love the bay for what it brings up,

Its odd that the seller has 80000 sales with 99.3% positive feedback
I have a Zeiss Conquest scope and it looks nothing like the ones advertised and where the f--k is kongkong

So as long as it's got Leupold or Zeiss written on it they are happy are they?

In that case they could save themselves a fortune. The centre of a bog roll with a bit of cling film over each end and scrawl whatever name they like...job done. Only cost a few pence and has a practical application as well.

Lots of fake Leupold happy customers....
may be decent scopes.....just not Zeiss

As you say not Zeiss but could still be a decent scope, seen some decent Leupold copies, see that the seller has several different scopes for sale, some from Hong Kong some from Singapore

What would the import tax likely amount to if I was curious enough to take a punt.

Well, with perhaps too much money than sense and knowing that it was more than likely a fake, I took a punt week before last and it arrived on Thursday via UK registered post! Candidly, I'm pleasantly surprised. The illumination is a bit garish but the optics are not bad at all! I'm going to mount it up on my Sako .243 and see how it works in practice.

As as it arrived with UK postage, no import duties at all....... curious and curious. I too scanned the feedback, particularly the negative and neutral, but could not find anything adverse related to scopes.

and where the f--k is kongkong

Its actually a village in Malaysia, (not noted for its optics industry) no where near China , if alarm bells haven't already been rung, I suppose the fact they can't even spell their location correctly is the icing on the cake

I suspect that you will find its ability to hold zero or track reliably will be....errr .....minimal

How does the UK Customs service view the importation of counterfeit goods? I suppose if they decide to confiscate it at the boarder the seller will give a refund...maybe.

I asked them a few questions include are you sure these are real Ziess as I can't find them on the ziess website?

reply was "yes they are Ziess USA assembled in the USA not Germany."

after my next question they said it's their shop so leave.
