Oh, and from the fridge!Dark obviously! MilkMake sure you've got chocolate hobnobs in the biscuit tin.
Oh, and from the fridge! No normally six holes in back of cabinet use decent size and deep plugs and screws , they will be fine don’t need side mounting as wellit's getting secured to an internal brick wall but the wall to the side is plasterboard, will that be an issue?
Years ago it was a disappearing half bottle of amber liquid for one of mine. He could remove it from my desk on a blink. Never had problems with Bill the Bard.Make sure you've got chocolate hobnobs in the biscuit tin.
it's not going in the loft, will be out of sight from anyone visiting the house and it'll be easily accessed by meWhere are you putting it?
Generally, from your flo point of view, it should be out of sight, but easy access.
In contrast, the FLO might not be happy with it being g installed in the loft.
If its a hassle to get to it, it increases the temptation to think.... o I'll put it away tomorrow...

cheers for the tipsI am sure you already know but in case
1 Over engineer fixing of the cabinet so there are no issues
2 If you have partner/wife, kids be clear they don’t know where you keep the keys, same if it’s keypad they don’t know codes
3 If you have house alarm talk him through it
Cheers spurs14No normally six holes in back of cabinet use decent size and deep plugs and screws , they will be fine don’t need side mounting as well
i was gonna have it on a wooden block above the skirtingWhen you are fixing the cabinet, be aware that most of the weight is in the door.
And when the door is open, the weight now is well away from the wall, giving the weight extra leverage, and all at one side.
I used the little inflatable bag wedges to help control the safe while I was fitting mine.
Take your time, and get help if you need it.
My brother in law is working for the NFU, he has a client in Kent, FEO knocked on his clients door, FAC holders wife answered, FEO intros himself and asks wife where the keys, she shows himI am sure you already know but in case

A story I've told on here before, but I think it bears repeating:Years ago it was a disappearing half bottle of amber liquid for one of mine. He could remove it from my desk on a blink. Never had problems with Bill the Bard.![]()

He likely won’t need to hide the keys anymore. FEOs should be more concerned about the state of affairs in households where partners feel they need to keep secrets from one another. He likely won’t need to hide the keys anymore. My partner does not know any of my cabinet codes or where the back up master keys are
Yes sounds good till while they are rummaging about they find some rounds you forgot to put back in the cabinetDon't tell them where the cabinet is, say they have to find it first, add pressure by starting a stopwatch and folding your arms, they'll be really impressed if you play the music from countdown while they're looking
Lady FEO asked me same question, probably 15 years ago. I replied that any man who thinks he has secrets from his wife after the amount of time that we'd been married was delusional, daft or both.FEOs should be more concerned about the state of affairs in households where partners feel they need to keep secrets from one another.
That's what I told my FEO when he asked if my wife knew where the keys were kept, and he said "fair point" and never mentioned it again.
i'd agree, it's not easy to hide a key box (or keys) in a house you share with others. It came up in a court case the a spouse or someone you live very closely with, like your mother for instance, it's unrealistic to assume they do not know where your hide keys.
As far as the initial visit goes, the grant is almost a given, it'll just be a time to go through the application and check the domestic situation (remember, you can alter the firearm/ammo requests even at this late time in the process).
Some forces require a quick word with partners and this will be done at the time.
