a bit of trivia for you ...... The sniper featured on the book's jacket is, IIRC, featured in a Nathan Foster article entitled "Hold that Forend!" in which he describes the shooter as "a machine!"

Wonderful. A walk around, with a single figures bag that is easy to divide between the guns for home consumption....is the best kind of shoot.

I have just strained and sampled my early November 2021 sloe gin. I have to say it is one of my best yet, I now prefer to reduce the sugar ratio to about 50% of what the recipes advise. Also November is a better time to pick them than earlier months, after they have matured and felt some frost. I also like it fresh, i.e. to drink it between January to April after it was harvested.

I am SO jealous. What you are planning is my absolute favorite - what I grew up with. Now it is really tough to find, big driven shoots - easy if you have the cash. Small walk around - virtually impossible.
