Fox/pest shooting before updated FAC arrives?

I was given the go ahead that my FAC variation had been accepted and now being sorted out for post via phone call with my FEO just over a month ago, the new FAC has yet to arrive still.
I had asked for three new slots, plus permission to use my currently owned target conditioned guns for pest/vermin control on my permission.
The syndicate I am a part of has been tasked with shooting foxes that recently killed several lambs on the farm, and I am planning on going shooting with one of the other members next month, so my question is am I allowed to bring my current rifles to go fox shooting without having the varied FAC in my possession?

Other people I have spoken to have said its fine and quite common when FACs take so long to arrive now, whilst some have said I should wait for the FAC to arrive. Whats the general SD consensus?

No offence intended, but it doesn't matter what a load of folks on the Internet reckon. Seek an answer from your licencing team.
I know you mean no offence, but many of us actually do have factual information to offer. Kind of makes a forum such as this irrelevant if knowledgeable advice is assumed to be incorrect

If anyone has factual information which would assist someone who is accused of conduct not allowed under the conditions of the Firearm Certificate in his hands, I am sure his defence team would be delighted to hear from them.

Unfortunately not all officers have the same views, some will shrug it off and some will think it a total violation of the law. Look what's happened to pigeon decoyers. Some have armed response rounding them up and a few hours in the slammer, and others never a bother. Just depends on the officer I guess. Not what should happen I know but that's just the way it is.

Until he gets stopped whilst vermin shooting and only has a target condition on his FAC for his firearms?
in which case I’d expect the officer that has him stopped to seize his gun ?
He won't get stopped why would he and if he did the coppers couldnt care less ..get real.

In theory he probably doesn't have his FAC as most forces seem to insist that it is returned when the variation is applied for.
As a minimum though, I would want a written confirmation from the FLD that I was acting lawfully, even a brief email or text message .

What rounds would you use ? Target ones ?

Does it matter?
The deer act requires us to use a projectile that's "designed to expand in a predictable manner" when shooting deer, but I don't think the same requirement extends to foxes, does it?
And besides, he's going out with someone else. If that person happens to have the same calibre rifle then I'm sure there'll be enough ammo for two.

I would say so - drilling holes in foxes is maybe not the most humane way ?
and without having the ammo on his cert if the worst happened good luck with the police and the insurance company ?

Would fmj be considered a target round and therefore be available to the op until his newly printed cert is back in his hands? I dont know much about different types of ammo, but I was just reading this on another thread:
Do they need to open a fmj work well fox fox.

So, what happens when a client turns up to stalk with his own rifle, only to find that the estate has a strict "non lead" policy, and he has not come prepared?
Well, the estate stalker provides him with a handful of rounds for the day (assuming, of course, that he happens to have some of the right chambering). Do those rounds get written on the clients FAC? I don't think so.
Would that be any different to the OP shooting in the company of his friend, using ammo provided by his friend? I don't think so.
Is it likely to cause any problems? I don't think so.

You dont think - but you dont know

Totally different scenarios you highlight above anyway - Client turns up by has the conditions on his cert - the OP does not

The OP is not licenced for that ammo

Nothing causes a problem - until ....it does
