FREE STALK COMPETITION how far did it run ?

Thank you Brian i have given the stalk to bigadam if he can make it if not choose another newcomer to the sport so they get off on the right foot, atb and a very nice gesture, wayne

Well done chaps and a spot on guess, experience in that kind of shot Wayne or just a lucky guess mate? Genuine interest from a noob not a **** take!

Stratts shot a few roe now and it always amazes me how some drop to a shot and others run ,one of the more memorable stalks i shot a buck that was walking my boundry with a stream in between me and it and it had been raining for a week so it was very deep and it could have gone two ways me getting wet for a recovery or it running my way and it did it jumped the stream and landed at my feet and an easy walk home:D
my second muntjack i ever shot was a perfect heart shot and it left the heart and lungs on the floor and it ran off ,it ran round the back of a tree but it never came out the other side ,I was so shocked at such a little thing legging it without its organs and from a 270 as well some just dont know they are dead, atb wayne
ps 36 was one of my race numbers when i raced motorbikes and always was good to me

Cheers mate I looked through the thread, saw someones guess who sounded like they knew what they were on about and added 1/2 m thinking it might fluke it, lol!! Was way out in the end!!

Having only 14 months and 3 Roe in my stalking career, I'm going to be selfish and claim my prize!

Pure wit hasn't helped me nail anything yet, but hopefully getting out with Brian will, so I'm looking forward to this

Thanks for the opportunity

Cheers

This kind of shot is very difficult to judge. A deer that is stressed and seen you will run like hell. If it had not seen me it might have walked a few feet and dropped. This is a good example of a bullet that is very fast and not a ballistic tip on a small deer.It went through like a needle. I will not be using these rounds any more. I have now powdered up 115g BT NOSLER. with 51 grain of reloader 19. i have a new 20in 25.06 remington 700.(Your photo looks like the chap from Field sports Britain) regards brian
