Fridge set up

I'm picking up a larder fridge today. Just a 180cm tall standard kitchen one. How have people secured a bar in the top of theirs to hang carcasses from? I know a lot of people drill through each side and put a curtain pole through, just seeing what other ideas people have come up with. I've got some unistrut lying about and thinking about possibly making a frame inside the fridge.

I used to have a similar set up. Here’s what I did. I didn’t want to drill so saw the idea to fit two sheets of thick plastic either side of the fridge with notches cut out to allow for a bar to sit within. I did three notches in the end to allow for the bar to be moved closer to the front/back as required and just used gorilla glue (or something similarly strong) to hold the plastic. I wedged a length of timber in to hold it all firm whilst the glue set and it held fine. Most I had was two large fallow does in next to each other and other than it being a bit tight the plastic/glue all held fine (I did set the sheets to rest on the fridge rails as shown to help with the weight distribution/strength).

Thanks. I've just found a couple of threads work since good ideas similar to yours. Not sure how to delete this thread?

Tall fridge for me also, I measured one of the glass shelves went onto eblag and bought a sheet of alloy that the seller cut to my size.
Fitted a length of 3/4" galv pipe into pipe clips, hangs a couple of Roe easily.

one thread running

I drilled a hole through the top of my fridge then put a hook and bolt thru and secured it to the rafter in my shed so the fridge takes none of the weight. I had heard too many stories of distorted fridges, and doors that won’t close, when hanging from the fridge itself.

Thanks for the advice on this thread and others on here that I came across. All sorted now, made use of the unistrut I had lying about, pleased with the end result. The fridge has a multi airflow system in it so hopefully won't need to add a fan inside. Frame sits on top of the shelf rests inside the fridge so slides in and out nicely if ever i need to take it out.👍
