Future Of The UK Moderator Market & Moderator Pricing?

The engineering term is thermal expansion. You fire your gun, the barrel warms up grows a tiny bit longer/ goes out of true, the next shot is subject to slightly different harmonics. Does it matter much? In some guns yes, in many no.
I see your point. But it's going into far more minutae than necessary

As you still need the FAC to buy or possess a Mod its going to be interesting to see how Wildcat and the police deal with that issue. Will we be able to buy parts without an FAC or will sellers like Wildcat be able to accept a pdf copy by email.
The issue I foresee is this: how does the retailer satisfy itself that the person it is sending the moderator to is the same as the individual on the licence? Without a person to check the likeness of the individual to the paper licence, the purpose of photo identification is lost.

That said, when items would no doubt be dispatched to the address on the firearms licence, its not likely creating a situation where components are being acquired unlawfully.

I imagine it will turn on what each RFD's licencing authorities attitude to risk is. By analogy, you can buy shotgun cartridges online; you just need to send in a copy of your licence for verification first. Perhaps a similar practice will ensue here.

With things like WhatsApp, it would be pretty easy to have a 30 second video call to look at the photo and address on the FAC and compare it to the person on the other end

It's going to be as complicated as showing your SGC for shotgun cartridges, Just Cartridges and probably others have mastered that.

In local gunshop during RFD renewal, man buy cartridges and is asked for SGC, blank look! Shop owner broke the impass, "last time it was in your gloves box", they went to car looked at something in glove compartment and returned to shop all smiles.

I agree. The question is whether the Police will share that view. Historically, for instance not allowing distance selling of cartridges by most RFDs, it seems the Police are less prepared to adopt a pragmatic stance.

Wildcat increased their prices yesterday 1st July. 😡 I would not be surprised to see them sell direct to the end user, to maximise profits.
There is a 50% tariff on imported steel just come in, I’d guess that’s relevant to their price increase. Not a useful addition to UK manufacturing given UK steel production is a fraction of the total demand.
