i like to train for cold scent first, you hav trained on live or fresh scent
result the same just a difference in time scale
hopefully one found beast
just there are times you may hav to wait a little more than a hour for the injured beast to lie up and stiffen so it can't get up and run on again, as a follow up shot is not possible,
just remember some of us stalk in built up area's
Plus some dogs are not capable of holding such a lively beast so they should never be put in that position, i would prefer to lose one deer than one good dog to a bad reading of situation
i used Standbuck's point about trophy's not mine (please remember that)
but these things hav to be taken into account as all situ's are different across the board as that was a valid point
but do agree
you hav a useful dog and you are willing to help
that should not be overlooked
