Had a spotlight put on me last night

A lot to ne said for going back to a lamp for foxing. With everyone using NV & thermal, foxes shouldn't be scared off by lamps, Id is easy, particularly at long range, when you can use decent magnification at range with rifle scope. If foxing regularly it puts poachers off, when there is a truck & lamp doing the rounds, word soon gets round.
Not these days, I'm sure you remember, like I do, the sky lighting up, and you knew someone was out doing the same as you, and it was an effective way of doing fox/rabbit control.
Do it today and it's a shining beacon to the anti's since the badger cull, and they have lots of thermal/night vision.

I fail to see how anyone one can stop a Land Rover in the middle of a field shining a lamp around, its not illegal, & when they are at night, on foot, in the mud, good luck with that one.. I spotted a lot more foxes when you get into 3rd gear, rather than creeping around slowly. Speed kills. And cars parked illegally on private land can be clamped.;)

If it's our traveller friends, they will cut or burn the clamp off, put it in the vehicle and weigh it in with their scrap.😂

Probably, along with ones self in the boot. Personally I always find being curtious & generous to certain known & well regarded families in the area pays dividends. They get free scrap, I get a clean yard cleared of ole tuut & free drinks in the local. Touch wood, word gets around & they leave me alone. Itinerant thieving scum are another matter, they move around like locusts.

True, I have good friends in my old home area. They are old style and well respected, breeding fine showing cobs. They own a lot of "Park home" sites and are generous within their local village when charity is called for.
Unfortunately the Irish and low life British variety spoil it for the decent folk.

A BASC rep told me an increasingly large percentage of insurance claims are now night shooting related.
