Hands free dog lead

I've used a double-ended "training lead" sometimes called a police lead, looped beind my belt. You can, depending on your size and the size of your dog, use them in the same format as the cross-body ones as well.

I have a niggoloh lead that can form a loop. I found the rings, loops catches etc just get caught up. And I don’t like being attached to a dog when taking a shot or on steep ground.

But for stalking I have a 20ft long 1” wide red tape lead that loops onto her collar, and then runs on the ground. I simply step on it if she moves a bit too far forward or when taking a shot.

After a shot its very useful for dragging carcasses. You can see it in the photos below.

I bought it from a yacht chandler. IMG_8380.jpegIMG_8266.jpeg

I just have a carabiner clicked to my labs slip lead that clicks to my bino harness. He walks to heel well and knows the drill well. Now off lead but this was how i started. Also useful for attaching to tree or fence whilst gralloching when he was a pup
