Hausken mod sticking...sometimes

I've had my s20 a little over a year now. I was given a Hausken "Hunter" mod as part of the deal. Anyway, been a year, a couple of boxes of ammo through it, gun is cleaned after every outing and never stored with the mod on. The mod is only on the gun when I'm physically stalking.

Last night, the mod was stuck fast on the rifle. Unscrewing ended up dismantling the mod and it took two of us to get it off. This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened in a year. Only seems to happen when I get caught in a rain shower.

I cleaned and re-greased the threads on the barrel and the mod and it stuck again.

Any ideas on what's causing it or how to avoid it?

Could be wear on the mod, in relation to the relief cut on the muzzle thread?

Candidly, the cut thread on my S20 is agricultural to say the least! However, my F&D and Evo mods I've had on it haven't stuck. It's unlikely that you have a 5/8x24 tap but if you did, you could try clearing the thread in the mod but perhaps best left to a gunsmith. You didn't say what grease you used - Allison from Wildcat always advocated silicon grease on the Evo mod to prevent jamming - i'd try some of that. I remember @Stalker62 having a similar issue (different rifle/mod) and after his post, I added his recommended pair of silicon jar lid remover "pliers" to my range box.

I recently did something similar to this to remove the threaded insert from a Ti mod if you need to do a non-marking removal.

Run a die down the barrel thread and run a tap in the moderator thread.

Ps. Post #3 got in before me, but, taps & dies (China) are not expensive and well worth having to hand and the also don’t need a ‘smith to use them.
Most times I find I can use tap and die without using a tap wrench or die holder.

Thanks for the tips, I use liqui-Moly Schmierfix for the last 10 years on all of my guns and never had a problem. I might steep the one piece baffle and threads in hot soapy water to try clean it out a bit better

I have a Bergara (5/8x24 UNEF) and use a SL5i moderator on it.
It’s used at least twice weekly and every few weeks the mod gets tighter to screw on and off.
The threads seem to get something black (Powder residue?) ) in them and it’s as though it’s blowing back from the moderator. This is when I use the tap and die.

Ps. I think Bergara rifles are known for their interest in going rusty if you don’t care for them properly!

I may have been a little harsh there! Apologies, but I'd go with a silicon or ceramic-based grease. I've just looked and it was Liqui-Moly Keramik-Paste that Alison originally provided me with for the evo. I note Hausksen do not say anything other than grease in their instructions:

Hausken Silencers can be disassembled for cleaning and inspection. Remove the front thread protector (some models) and using a wrench or the special tool to hold the suppressor immobile, screw the outer-casing from the baffles. Both parts can be can be washed with warm water and mild detergent. Allow the parts to dry. Ensure that both rubber gaskets are intact and properly positioned (green front, some models). Grease the threads of the outer-casing before reassembly. Maintenance will prolong the life of your suppressor and ensure optimal performance.​

It’s definitely a lubricant, I think the “adhesion” is referring to its waterproof-ness

I would definitely change the lube your using just to see if it makes a difference.
I use lithium grease that I got in halfords

I hear mixed comments about lithium grease from an engineering/tribology point of view. I'd suggest a high-temperature inert grease personally.
