Can anyone help with the space for the rear passengers in the trucks with 4 doors. Enough for big lads or is it a bit tight?

Thanks you bruce
Dreams of a family pick up shelves once more…
I like the Hilux don't get me wrong it feels solid and built to last.... the ranger is neigh never going to last as long or be as durable... but its a lot more spacious, more comfortable seats, quieter and drives a lot more like a car... I do like the ranger, a lot of people slate them, mine was the first of the 2.0 Bi-Turbo models, loved it, but was time for a change and I didn't like the new model, looked at the Amarok too and it had too many bad reports and faults on the new one, so stopped looking into it...

I'd look at a secondhand ranger and get the wetbelt done and keep on top of it... more space and a bit more comfortable drive.

Everything has more space in the back than an L200 :)

Cheers

Bruce
You have a point. I once climbed from the front to the back of my L200 after spotting a fallow doe in a shootable location. collecting my rifle off the back seat on the way I exited a rear door and took the shot of the bonnet. Being of ample height and width it was an experience that wasn’t without a fair amount of questionable English.

Never had a problem with the hilux, I’m 5’11”. Navara is bigger in back as is ranger
They are as spacious as most large cars and are great family motors

Have to be honest, I was impressed with the four door Hilux, more comfortable that the Isuzu I tried after it. There again, I'm not exactly tall or heavily built.....
My best suggestion @Essexsussex would be to try one out with the family/friends and see if you (and them) can live with it.

Thanks - that’s the next step although I might not try that hard!

I have a Navara which has decent leg room in the back, I’m 6’4” although don’t sit in the rear but my front seat is all the way back and others have room.

I don’t spend a lot of time in the back of my hilux but when I do it seems alright to me! Sat on leaf springs is never much fun but space wise they are alright, certainly for kids. 6.1ft, 18st.

You may be more comfortable in the ranger, sat waiting for the tow truck to arrive 🤣

All of the double cabs I have sat in the back of are OK - for short trips. Due to the cab being mounted on a chassis there is little depth to the footwell so your knees are high. In the back the seat backs are almost vertical.

I am 6ft and certainly wouldn’t want to be in the back of one fir more than half an hour. I would much rather sit in the back of a landrover 110.
