I have a pair of canines that I bought about 35 years ago. I had intended to use them for knife handles but never go around to it. The combined weight is around 3.5kg.
Does anyone know for sure if it would be legally possible to either use them or sell them?
I don't have any paperwork or proof of purchase.

They are still legal to trade, but not sure where I stand as I don't have any papers.

I don’t know anything about papers, all l know is a friend sold some items that were subject to CITES regulations through a local auction house and he had no provenance (papers) with them, the auction house specialist confirmed that they were pre regulations and were sold with their guarantee.

Your best bet would be going to the Facebook taxidermy pages, there's a few things from cites that can be sold without papers and many many things that cannot.

If its still available It seems like someone on FB (I've linked this forum post to them) is looking for the Ivory from the looks it there's an ivory ban coming into place in the next upcoming weeks so I'd sell it asap if you want some cash for it, If not it will be illegal to sell in the future.
