Last Thursday I lost all electricity due to lightning strike, and of course internet too, got power back later that day, internet today,[router fried, ect] all back and working with all new gear supplied free of charge, so far so good,
So I'm stuck at home after doing my daily routines and I'm thinking "what can I do today"? and with the thoughts of a certain mr packham still fresh in my mind from my last memories of being on here before the lightning took its toll I had an idea,
What if I invited him to my place? maybe have a chat ,, you know,, show him the benefits of shooting and general estate management and its positive impacts on all flora and fauna and not just pheasants and partridges, he might like that,, so I made a few inquiries and managed to get a contact number,, the conversation went quite well and to my surprise he agreed,, however he said he hadn't a great deal of spare time , what with saving the wildlife justice thing, and taking groups of punters around the the world to photograph creatures for 8k a pop,, never mind I said "we could run around the estate pretty quickly and chat while running,,"
we agreed a time he would arrive and I would meet him,"wear your trainers" I told him,, "I look forward to meeting you",,,
"oh and cris you better ring the bell on the gate and wait for me to come out, my dogs can be a little iffy with strangers"
he answered,, "I'm really good with dogs, I have one myself"
"well best ring the bell anyway cris,, better safe than sorry" I said.
If only he had listened,,,
