If you do one thing today ........

Are the moors up by you a bit desolate then Stav ? The ones i have seen are good tbh
And tbh i have been to lots of commercial shoots to and seen some great efforts on those
The moors around me are the best in the world Wemmergill , Bollihope etc and are very diverse . The keeper I used to know on a different moor did a fantastic job .

Great video, you are doing a great job there, can see how much it all means to you 👍

Thanks Dan - it means a lot to a lot of people - some who have had bereavements and lost partners - its a place to get away from it all - give and take some stick - Communities real communities - like the village pub was when we were youths - a place to swap stories - tell tale tales - thats why we must fight so hard for what we have left

You've turned the clock back to when I was a boy! Then there were fields with ponds in the corners, deep hedgerows, and wildlife of all sorts was everywhere. Then it all changed in under fifty years.
Perhaps the example you have set will catch on with landowners and farmers across the country. If every farm put in perhaps just one pond and set aside a couple of acres to promote wildflower growth. The difference it would make overall would be amazing.
Not all areas are as suitable as yours certainly is, but every little bit would help.
Congratulations on a wonderful job!

Thats exactly what i wanted - turn the clock back when you could have a proper little walk round rough shoot even on a couple of hundred acres

I forgot to say in the video that over 5 miles of new hedge and shelter belt have been planted too - these now are incredible places for life as you know

A paper version for any that like a read !

That's brilliant, how our community should be, supporting each other and helping those who need it. It's a credit to you and your hard work.

Featured now on The Moorland Association Facebook site

Thanks to their CEO Andrew Gilruth for his support and Rob Beeson for putting it on

Worth a look if you havent seen - even the Insta clips are interesting .......... but then i would say that !!!!!!!!!

Thanks ! Cant wait to see the flocks of birds this year as some of the new hedges now are absolutely laden
I congratulate you for all your efforts, I'm only 3 miles away from you but haven't ever been on your shoot, however if you travel 8 miles towards bolsover all you see is acre after acre of solar panels, and East moor around Chatsworth is a wildlife desert, nothing on it now but crows an odd buzzard, badgers and foxes. Might I suggest you send your brilliant video to the Duke of Devonshire, he may learn something more than simply how to make even more money ☹️
