I'm famous (Sc*mwatch Facebook Page)

you're right we would be and we're above that but it would be nice to know the faces of the people saying we should burn and die?!

I often think their employers should see their disgusting comments and see what a 'rounded' people they are.

Comments like that would certainly mean a revocation of their SG and FAC's!

Tempting though it is, no retaliatory posts on here please. Having just sent Facebook a lengthy sermon about the wrongs of hosting a hatred page I'm keen not to do the same on here!

Also, their ugly, twisted, gurning mugs posted on here would ruin the aesthetics of the site. :-|

It is when I read threads like this that I am pleased that I do not do the faceache thing :old:

"Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me"

So the antis are saying nasty things because they disapprove of what we do, in a free and tolerant society they have every right to do so even if they themselves have a very intolerant attitude.

Do be vigilant for any of them making threats of violence or threats to kill, these should be reported to the police at once.

I have to agree! No matter what we think of these uneducated fools to put comments up that could be construied as "threatening" would only make us as bad or foolish as them!
Surely it's much better if we can just laugh ourselves silly about them!

Here's a tip to check who can see what on your Facebook profile.

  1. Go to your profile page
  2. Click the cog icon on the bottom right of your cover photo
  3. Click View As
facebookperms.webp

You can now see your profile page as it is displayed to the general public.

You should probably report it to fb. At the end of the day, if its nipped in the bud then its done with. If your picture (and others) spends more time being shown in the wrong light, it could cause you more headaches. The fact that its called hunters should die is probably breaking some law about intent to cause harm or cyber bullying.

+1...........its at least cyber bullying if nothing else.......I know that none of us are afraid of bullies but as FF says nip it in the bud......we dont want there sort gaining momentum.....

I tried to report it for 'hate speech' but had to choose which of the following groups it targetted; a race or ethnicity, a religious group, based on gender or sexuality, or people with a disability or disease.

It seems it's not hate speech if it targets any other group. And 'hunters should die' is not a credible threat of violence either.

Just had a look at the profiles of just two of those making comments. One of them had a picture of an English Fry up and the other had written on his wall "I love Bacon". I guess they think free range venison isn't as good as farmed food. Just goes to show what little these people know about the world outside of their own little bubble.

that tells me its someone who knows what they are doing not just some numpty..........:suss:

they are sad people, living in a cocoon bubble.

there`s a lot of real evil and cruelty in this world
but they concentrate on innocuous field sports,

I once gave a local radio broadcast about woodpigeon shooting
next three months I got disgusting hate mail,
...............pathetic.
they want sending to a country where real bad people (scum?) live
see how they survive there with their sad ramblings

Making threats to kill is a serious criminal offence, if you are on the receiving end of any of these report it to the police and insist that they follow the matter up.

Just remember that this Cower of Shunts are human-haters and NOT animal-lovers; in the US, nearly every State as legislation making active and direct hunter-hating a crime...oh that we were so enlightened over here; 'Cleetus...go git ma' .300 mag; we all got sabs on the porch' *sigh...if only* ;-)

Okay so the page has been reported a number of times and yet FB have refused to remove it.
I have sent FB the following complaint.

This page is breaching the following facebook terms:
Hate speech. They are insighting hate onto law abiding citizens.

Identity and privacy: This group is publishing personal information without their consent (names, location even telephone numbers)

Intellectual property: Sharing other members photgraphs without their permission.

Security: Publishing members location and telephone numbers to people that are wishing to seek revenge attacks.

Violence and Threats: By publishing peoples photos, location and contact details against their will to people who are inciting hatred towards them.

This page has been reported a number of times.
It is in clear breach of facebooks policys on a number of accounts. Facebook have refused to close down the page and hence facebook have been in breech of their own safety policy therby putting failing to protect those who have been victimised.

Please feel free to do the same or similar here:https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/232989770111862

Some good and some worrying response posts.

I can fully understand the position whereby 'you really dont want hassle' etc. But such comments as these are simply unacceptable - and I have to say such derogatory comments are unacceptable no matter in which direction they are thrown. Resort to such language/ tactics and you've lost the argument.

There's no grey area here - unacceptable is exactly what it says on the tin. FB may not yet have a mechanism in place to deal with this specific area, but such comments fall unambiguously foul of their published terms of use. A formal complaint should be the first action of anyone personally affected and in cases where there appears to be a call for illegal actions then a formal complaint to the police as well.

If FB fail to respond adequately, then a copy of the issue to your MP is in order.

All this is a faff, I appreciate that. Equally in 99% of cases it will be a mindless armchair warrior at work - so keep it in perspective.

I've written again and again about perception. As shooting sports enthusiasts I believe we simply do not have the option of sitting back. Unless we stand - and just stand, not talking revolution here - for our legitimate rights then we seriously face losing them.

If personally affected, I would also be raising with my representative shooting organisation.

Slanging back is the wrong response every time.
