I retired in March due to circumstances meaning I'll be OK financially without having to work.
BUT that doesn't make life cheaper, as I've just done DSC1, bought an insanely expensive, 243, have two more rifles on order, want a new roof & solar panels on the house, a garage/workshop built, an outhouse converted into a larder, need to book DSC2, want a lease off Forest Enterprise, am off to the Eastern Cape next year...
...oh & a new truck in 2020.
Not too sure about being able to afford food though.![]()
greetings....what did you reply to the flo when they said 1 in 1 out.??. dam cheek..if you have need for it and you want it get it..simple as..
You may think you have everything? However, you cant be complete without the latest Blaser R8
That should take another 6K off you!!
They tell me that some people(Even clever ones with expensive rifles) can shoot deer and use that for food!.
Ken.
I said I had "nothing" left to spend money on. I never actually said I had any money! If I had 6K, the last thing I'd buy would be a Blaser,. They may be good rifles, but they've never "flicked my switch".
I had reached full capacity in my gun safe. Any more will require a bigger safe. I have an unfortunate fondness for Lee Enfields, I'm afraid; and there's more variants of those than I have room for. Things were much easier when we were allowed pistols. They don't take up nearly as much room.
correct.... well another cabinet and buy an L42A1 Enforcer![]()
I see this is quite a old post, just like to leave a bit of a update. Ran across one here in Canada last year he wanted $18000CA but it was as complete as the day it was issued from the case to the last Crum it was issued with.I'd love an L42, or a No4(T), but my pockets are nowhere near deep enough. I think the last L42 I saw advertised was somewhere North of £10,000![]()
You start buying expensive watchesI seem to have reached a point where I should be happy, but am left feeling a little bit empty and deflated.
My gun cupboard is full; to the point where the FEO said, at my last variation, "it's one out, one in from now on".
I use 3 calibres for stalking, .243, 308, and .303. I have brass and hunting bullets aplenty for each one, even at my current rate of outings, I have enough bullets to cover my stalking for several years.
I have enough powder for everything, and accurate loads worked out for each cartridge.
I'm happy with my main pair of binos, and I have a smaller pair to keep in the car.
I've finally arrived at the point where the scopes and mounts I have on each rifle seem well suited, and they do everything I want them to do.
The clothing I have is fit for purpose, and I've tried enough "Gucci" stuff to know not to fall for the advertising.
So. What do I do now? I don't seem to have anything left to spend money on.![]()
