Insurance for dogs

I have my two younger dogs insured. My older dog I have a saving account and put a similar amount of money in there.

I am currently thinking about getting third party liability insurance, but this may be covered by my house hold insurance
Very similar to me in that aspect, younger two are insured however the older one isn't. Ultimately she's at the age where if something was to happen, she wouldn't be getting treated anyway. If it involves insurance it's usually a substantial issue and she's too old for it.

Flip side, my pup ate a Sock last year and the cost was bloody huge. I'm happy he was insured because if he wasn't it would have been a few K on the credit card 🤦

I had three dogs at one time all working, when I looked at the insurance for the three is was just under £60 a month, it’s now considerably more, I decided to put £50 a month into a separate account since the GWP was a pup. We lost the Brittany two years ago now down to the GWP and JR, still put the same amount away, they now have a tidy little nest egg which will cover the cost of any injuries, there euthanasia , if I choose not to do it myself and their replacements when the time comes. And I have to agree with @Bowland blades about the emotional side of things, if a dog needs wheels to get about does it actually have a quality of life, or are the owners being selfish and thinking of themselves over the welfare of their so called beloved pet.
