Funny.
Plenty hear moaning about BASC, but I don't hear reports of any other organisation fighting the shooter's corner. Nor do I see those organisations here.
I also remember one of the regular BASC-bashers here suggesting the establishment of a so-called “Countryside Fund”. Where did that end up? As ever, when it comes to doing anything practical to help shooting you get crushed in the stampede for the door from the keyboard warriors.
As to the question from
@finnbear270, of whether we should ever expect a win against the “other” side, the answer is clearly no, or at least not whilst UK shooters expend all their energy arguing amongst themselves. Quite frankly we don’t deserve to win. The difference between the shooting fraternity and the antis is that they are capable of putting aside differences and uniting behind a common message. With the shooting fraternity, however, rather than pulling together and presenting a united front capable of winning, many seem to prefer to criticise from afar and
argue over past battles lost.
When shooting goes, as I fear it inevitably will, the blame won’t lie with those who chose to sign up as members and support the various shooting organisations, but rather by those who felt their time was best spent in criticising those that did.
