Just a heads-up on this service guys ... After doing this with no problems for over 15 years I have now had the horror of having a knife go missing thanks to the inefficiency of the Post Office. The knife was posted via 1st Class Recorded and was allegedly left at the customers address by the postie (no signature taken, apparently due to Covid ) The chap was out at the time of delivery and now the knife is in the wind. I am in the process of trying to get some recompense from the P.O. but I don't hold out too much hope. The owner of the knife is, thank goodness, happy that I did in fact post the thing and is not directly blaming me for the loss.
As a result, I will now only be using Special Delivery to return knives as this at least ensures that they are insured. I know it ups the cost a little, but I'd hate to have this event repeated.
