I gave you an answer. You're either too stupid or too stubborn....
No, you didn't. You tell me what bullet will still expand at 400 yards and put deer on the deck. Also tell me airgun pellets that WORK and 22lr lead free that works... As it stands, you haven't given me anything.

And you talk about us lot being stupid 🤦🥱

There is absolutely no point in getting up the arse about it, its coming and there is feck all you can do about it!

An nothing and no one is going to stop it.

Of course.

Plenty of people have already changed. Thousands and thousands of deer are being shot every year, thousands of pigeons rabbits, hares already being shot with non-lead ammo. It's out there. It works.

Shooting needs to move with the times.

130gn barnes ttsx from my 270 @ 375 ish give or take red hind.

That close enough for you?

For the record it was chest shot and driven under 3000fps.

The U.K. is struggling now at this very second to get, primers, bullets, powders, ammunition, cartridges in current lead format, look at the post primers £100 per 1000 yet but by magic in a possibly a few years all will be perfect in non toxic equivalents, dream on.

It is thanks, is that a lucky one off with the rest penciling through? As we know long range expert @dodgyknees has already disproved this as they work well enough to use on a regular basis...

There are still multiple reports of them pencilling through things at 200 yards. Doesn't give me much confidence 👍

and millions more game, pigeons, rabbits being shot by lead.

just 3 to 4% of cartridges sales are non toxic shot and then a small percentage of them biodegradable wads.

I don't think there's any need for people on here to be arguing with eachother, the report has its findings, some will disagree because it doesn't give the findings they want to hear and if the outcome was different others would disagree

The fact is that now this seems to a done deal contacting your various shooting orgs (it's not all basc) with concerns so that hopefully there will be enough traction to support as many shooters in as many disciplines as possible and hopefully they can liaise with the manufacture in someone to bring concerns to them with the current products

It is a free market and prices on most things these days are great, if needs be then maybe we have to make compromises with other activities we do to ensure the funds to keep up whatever shooting you do

I'm out of this conversation, no point banging heads with certain people... It will only get me banned 😂

@Norfolk Deer Search if at some point you could do some testing of these amazing lead free please document and share for the rest of us. Whilst there get them down to a reasonable price too 😂😂

Gents, this will likely be the end of for the majority of persons who shoot for recreation

I have killed more deer with copper than most can ever dream of killing with lead.

Out of 4000 copper rounds 4 have penciled in 15 years thats not too bad average is it?

Everything i say on this subject is 100% fact from experience and not listening to others who think they know.

You sir are a sheep 🐑 how about being a big boy and finding out for yourself without listening to all the bollocks.

I will even pass my wisdom of you wish

I shoot deer not paper, my days of testing are long gone!

Plus copper costs no more than a premium lead bullet, also the cost of reloading copper has hardly increased over the last 15 years.

Looks like all of you guys that are going to give up shooting once there’s no more lead are going to swamp the second hand gun market. That’s going to reduce your own compensation package and devalue everyone else’s stuff too.
Selfish, very selfish.😃😃

The report was as expected, as whatever shooting you do, the next generation will know no different but entry into the sport will be very challenging and the decline as current shooters expire, business will struggle to survive as will some clay grounds, it is heading that way with current prices of ammunition, cartridges, game birds and clays, then the cost and hurdles of obtaining a firearms licence and possibly soon to include that for airguns.
Shooting will return to a sport for wealthy. The full effect of the rising cost of living and potentially much higher interest rates making mortgages more expensive may take until next year to fully impact on what is a hobby for most.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong, but I can see it is heading towards a cliff edge.

all ready happing the second hand market for shotguns is already giving pennies for non steel proof guns in fact some shops will not even want them as no market for them.

The majority of that is true of any hobby or passtime over the coming years. Everything is getting more expensive.

People starting off shooting will still be able to use airguns.

People starting off will still be able to buy cheap shotguns capable of shooting SP steel. Steel cartridges are no more expensive than lead.

People starting off will still be able to buy cheap full bore rifles and there is affordable non-lead ammo that works.

I am already doing all of the above and I'm not in any way well off.
