Lee Auto Prime alternatives

I had an old auto prime for years - the one with the square black tray and clear top. It worked a treat and primed hundreds and hundreds of cases. Sadly the plastic went brittle, snapped and now it’s no more.

I replaced it with a new auto prime thinking I’d have years of trouble free use. I mean, they couldn’t have taken a great product and made it worse could they??

Well they’ve done just that. Since using it about a month ago I’ve had more primers seated sideways and double stacked primers etc than I’ve had in years of reloading. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever had any of these issues before. It’s rubbish and I’m going to end up with a primer going bang so it’s destined for the bin.

Can someone recommend me a reasonably priced, reliable alternative please?

Some of the Frankford Arsenal and RCBS stuff is nearer £100 (compared to about £25 for the Lee) - i’d like to avoid paying quite as much as that but if they’re the only alternatives then I’d like to buy something well proven and recommended.

hi 75 i have used my rcbs hand primer for nigh on 40 years never had a problem with it put an add on wanted here in the classified section bs

I’ve used both. The Lee broke. A new Lee broke. Bought an RCBS tool thirty years ago & never had a moment problem.
Primed thousands of rounds with it.
RCBS - A proper indestructable tool.

Have two of the RCBS with universal caseholders and a few extra trays, was a guy on epay doing them at very reasonable prices - less than any uk supplier
