Lightweight 22cf

My backs away, again!

It’s so frustrating whilst recovering!

I might be as well setting my sights on a lightweight 22cf ahead of this lead ban! My 243 is a heavy old lump with the alpex 4k lrf even more so! You never think about it when your fit!

Any off the shelf rifle options? Or custom build to share?

Thanks in advance folks!

I’ve just sorted myself with a lighter weight 223. A Howa 1500 with 1 in 8 sporter weight barrel which I had chopped to 20inch. I could have gone shorter but wanted to keep the speed up. Put in a grs hunter light stock, an mdt field would be a good synthetic option and lighter. Then a freyer and devic mod. Very pleased with it. Good accuracy and a great action. I tweaked the trigger to be a bit lighter at 2lbs. Not silly money either.

I’ve the same issue

It’s nothing to do with calibre by the way , plenty super light .243 rifles about

Manlicher for one

I’ve a T3x lite in .223 fitted with a Tika CTR stock as I love metal magazines
Only compromised by the Alpex on top or it would be light as anything

Someone had a nice Sako Vixen for sale a while back?

S&L Legacy. I can weigh it later with and without scope moderator etc if it will help but it is seriously light and easy to carry. My guess would be around 6lbs without scope.

I doubt you will find a better put together rifle off the shelf. My favourite of the rifles I own by quite some way.

Your back may benefit from using braces to hold your trousers up instead of a belt, especially if you carry too much weight in your stomach.

Tikka T3 .222 Rem
Sako 75 .223
CZ527 in Form Carro in 1:9" .223

all light and off the shelf
custom .22 ARC on a Tikka or Sako action in a carbon stock for the pure bling and lightness if required

I would go 22-250 or 223 in any typical factory offering, DPT muzzle brake moderator (cal. specific) and a fixed mag scope
It's not mega difficult to build a sub 6lb rifle if you don't chase bells and whistles....
